Here is the table of contents from one of the books by Nicolai
Levashov, as posted on his website. I am sending it to you to illustrate
the sort of things Dr. Richard Blasband is endorsing these days. One
can only speculate what Reich would have had to say about such mysticism
being considered compatible with orgonomy.
I have no more problem with Levashov than with any other psychic,
but Blasband is an orgonomist. He should know better. And he has a
responsibility as an orgonomist to give an acurate rendering of orgonomy
or cease giving people the impression that he has any connection with
orgonomy other than a historical one. If orgonomy is a natural science,
there is no place in it for mystical distortions of natural phenomena.
If Blasband now thinks the mysticism of Levashov is an accurate way
to perceive reality, he should at least be honest enough to say he no
longer accepts orgonomy. But instead, he continues to exploit the name
and reputation of Reich to gain followers for Levashov, and by
extension, for mystical world-views in general. And it is this, the
mystical distortions of the world, as seen by mystical-minded people,
that is behind much of the trouble in the world.
I do not see how a belief that the human "mind", whatever that is,
can influence weather without any orgone-biophysical explanation being
possible, can replace the theory that weather is an orgone energy
phenomena and can be influenced by changes in the orgonotic potential in
various parts of the atmosphere, and that those potentials can be
altered by providing a conduit from a specific point in the sky to a
body of water which will attract energy via that conduit.
To the mystic, there is no connection between events. One "thinks"
or "wills" something to happen, and it happens, without any intervening
medium. This absense of a causual mechanism is the exact reverse of what
is searched for in the natural sciences, which is the CONNECTION
between the cause and the effect. A mystical explanation for an event,
which really means no explanation, is an avoidence of an explanation.
While the scientist tries to find what is happening behind the
scenes, the mystic tries to avoid seeing what is going on "behind the
curtain".
And if orgone energy phenomena are the explanation, avoiding that
explanation is avoiding recognition of orgone energy. This avoiding of
orgone is the whole meaning and purpose of mysticism. It is a means of
reducing the anxiety of contact with the life energy by convincing
oneself the "dangerous" life energy does not exist. By endorsing the
theory that instead of orgone energy, some vague, undefined "psychic"
ability of the operator is the operative factor in the functioning of
the cloudbuster, Dr. Blasband is at one with those who say orgone energy
does not exist.
Reich described mysticism as a distorted view of the world caused
by armoring in the optical segment. In this connectiuon, it might be
relevant that Blasband wears glasses.
Also, note the implied racism in so many of the chapter headings in
this book by Levashov. And recall what Reich had to say about racism in
The Mass Psychology of Fascism.
